I'm sorry for the lack of updates from me! My life has been pretty crazy lately luckily with all (hopefully) good news!  I've announced it a few places but next week I'll be moving out to California! Who knows how long I'll be out there, but hopefully for the next many years!  I know a few of you know that I got a job out there, but I don't want to say anything about it until it officially goes through!

But because of that my con schedule con a bit rearranged!  I will no longer be attended Colossalcon, which bums me out since it's one of my favorite cons, but I will be attending Anime Expo and hopefully San Diego Comic Con!  (And if there is any other good west coast cons, you should let me know!)

I'm really excited for warm winters, as a northern midwest girl...  I'm a bit tired of the cold.   Hopefully I can make some new friends out there!!

I also want to do a shout out for my friend who makes awesome jewelry! I already own a piece of hers, but I might be tempted to buy some more!! The waffle ones are so cute!! (I love me some Stephanie Brown)!  If you are a comic fan I would check these out for sure!

glad to see that things seem to be going well for you and your career I wish you all the luck on your move. Also with you going to Anime Expo I hope I get the rare chance to meet you, since it'll be my first time in America when I come over for AX, so would be cool to get to say hi to an awesome cosplayer. Do you know what cosplays you might be using for AX?

I want to move to Cali too! A good friend of mine moved to San Diego about a year ago (maybe longer, I'm not sure) so if you'll be in SD predominantly you should look her up. you can find her on Facebook: [link]

When you're able to talk about your new job I want to hear about it! :D

I know people have said lots of good things about ALA as well, that's in January I believe :D
Rockzilla24 Featured By Owner May 31, 2013
Yea, for up north, as someone already said, Fanime in San Jose is pretty good. It just passed, so you will have to wait until next year. There is also Japan Expo which is supposed to be held in Santa Clara, but it's their first time here if I'm not mistaken, so I don't know how it will turn out.

There's a good con that happens twice a year in Sacremento called SacAnime! The summer con is actually in two months or so.

Enjoy California! I'm originally from there so I can vouch for its fabulousness! San Francisco is one of the best places to be a Lolita though anywhere is a wonderful place to be a Lolita! Cosplay to the ends of the Earth woman!

The San Francisco Bay Area hosts quite a few low key cons and a couple of big ones. Alternate Press Expo is in San Francisco in October and Fanime is every Memorial Day weekend. In San Mateo you can catch Kin Yubi Con later this Summer and Santa Clara hosts the Japan Expo in August. Hyper Con sadly was canceled and may not return. Sacramento has a couple of cool cons, Sac Anime is held twice a year (Jan. and Aug.) and Kintoki Con is in July. Oh, I forgot about Animation on Display also in SF but that's in like two weeks so you may have to wait till next year for that one. WonderCon has moved down south supposedly for good so between January and May you'll want to head down to SoCal and possibly AZ or WA if you're up to traveling. Amazing Arizona Comic Con is in April in Phoenix I believe as is WonderCon and Emerald City Comic Con is in Seattle in March I think. Not enough? Nevada has some small-ish cons during the summer in Vegas but I can never remember the name of them. Hope that keeps you busy!

Welcome to CA, you'll love it here. :)

There's also Sac-Anime. It's pretty small, but it's not as expensive as the bigger cons. I'd love to see you there!

Cool! I live NorCal. I love living here. It is one of the most beautiful states i've ever been to. Most of it anyway. It shouldn't be hard to find new friends. There is every type of person in California. And tons of Cons too!

Congrats!! Cali is about to get just a bit sunnier ;D
kngdmhrts2 Featured By Owner May 30, 2013  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
Can only repeat my congrats again on getting the job!! :D Sure it's gonna be the bestest time, even if you are having to move away from everyone for the time being.
Though you moving does make my urge to travel to the west side of America even more likely to happen :)
shiniXIII Featured By Owner May 30, 2013
As someone who spent her entire life in the midwest and moved out to Cali for college, all I gotta say is that you're gonna love it out here! The weather (though it tends to be similar all year round) definitely beats midwest weather anytime, but I gotta admit that I sometimes miss the snow...just a little ;) And the people here are definitely a lot more laid back and chill, compared to the busy fast-paced lifestyle as you get more midwest and east coast.

Anyways, I wish you the best of luck with your move-in and job! Based on the cons that you said you would be attending, I'm assuming that you're moving to SoCal? I heard the weather down there is absolutely gorgeous! (I'm currently living in NorCal)
